The Sound Techniques Alpha Range is a complete channel strip featuring transformers and preamp for saturation, a unique EQ, a channel compressor and a summing bus. It has a vintage sound with tons of punch and low end.
It's also from 1967, at a time before consoles standardized. It has a quirky interface, and our recreation of it is true to its original design. So, yes, it has a bit of a learning curve and there are some odd things about it. We're covering all of that in this course.
We're also covering how to minimize the plugin's CPU usage—depending on how you set it, the Alpha Range can be quite hungry in the computer resources department.
The individual lessons are sequential. Feel free to write us if you have any questions.
