Put the Puff Puff mixPass on a track and it will jump out of the mix. Put Puff Puff on a bus and everything gels and sound bigger. What is this strange magic?
It’s our proprietary waveshaping. It add musical, rich harmonic content to any signal. This increases the density, which our ears hear as an increase in loudness. Additionally, the increase in harmonic activity brings clarity and presence to a signal. It’s a bit like adding saturation, but without the loss of transients and harshness.
We’ve included controls for adding artifacts and breakup, because there’s always a need to damage things. And there’s also a clipper: put the Puff Puff mixPass last on your Stereo Bus and goose some volume and level out of things.

Puff Puff makes things louder
The secret is waveshaping.
Puff Puff mixPass makes your signal louder by enhancing its harmonic structure to increase the apparent loudness to your ear. It increases density by adding, not by crushing down peaks and then increasing the overall level like a compressor, limiter or a clipper.
The result is louder, without the flatness of compression. And without the level change of compression. Puff Puff makes things louder but it barely increases the level.

Use the Puff Puff to pull up vocals in a mix, add detail and presence to drums and loops, or put it across your entire mix after limiting to restore some of the lost dynamics.
Character and Clipping
From pristine to deranged.
Many users put the Puff Puff mixPass at the end of their mix bus for a final bit of loudness and polishing. It also works great on any submix that’s just not quite sitting correctly. A little Puff can go a long way.
But it also can be a surprisingly creative sound shaper, adding interesting distortion and artifacts to individual tracks.

Character
Puff Puff mixPass has unique controls so you can experiment with saturation, distortion, and all sorts of sonic mayhem. Reshape waveforms to add fuzz or anomalous artifacts. Add character to otherwise boring pads or reverb returns. You can also push everything towards sonic purity—Puff Puff can take a signal from high fidelity to lo-fi quickly and easily.
Clipping
Set the threshold—the signal won’t go over it. Turn up Gain to push the signal into that threshold. The Puff’s clipper is designed to minimize digital artifacts, but if you push it hard, fun and unusual things might happen. Use the Puff at the end of your mix bus for final loudness and protective clipping, or strap it across a channel and crush into it for other worldly noise and effects.

Korneff Audio plugins to me are really exciting and fun to work with. The Talkback Limiter sits nicely in parallel on my drum busses. The Pawn Shop Compressor can handle pretty much anything from drums all the way to vocals. And the AIP is just on another level as far as I’m concerned. It never leaves my guitar busses. Just a really solid variety of sounds that are really fun to use.

An instrument source "biggerizer" that always sounds great!
First of all, Luke & Dan are amazing people. These are fantastic audio tools that I use every day mixing music and post-production, sound design, film/movies. I feel good from the excellent results I get, and that I also know the people behind the company, that nice feeling of community.
Puff Puff Mix Pass tends to live in lower-volume audio material, usually music, ambience backgrounds, and sfx that have dialogue happening on top, and I still need the mood and details to be felt and heard but not overpower the dialogue. It works wonders, and also some stock music libraries come so limited with no dynamics. PPMP gives me the option to bring some dynamics back and give a more realistic natural feel.
With music mixing I tend to use it as my first option to bring back some life to a not-so-good recording or performance lacking some vibe, tone, or intention. It just works, it makes it vibrant and work with the rest.

The WOW Thing truly brings a WOW factor to your heavy guitars or really anything that needs that little extra size and weight. Super fun to play with, a little crazy, a little unpredictable, a little dangerous. And all that is exactly what I love about it.

I am making a reel for potential agent and so doing some “mastering” on the mixes and I thought I was done last night – just tried the Puff Puff mixPass on orchestral/percussive string track on “instrumental Leveler” and WOW is undeniably better – sounds like it was remixed!!! Puff Puff mixPass is awesome. The wave shaping capability of this unique spicy dynamics beast brings creative and edgey beauty to an instrument or bus. I used it to turn a rather dull bass synth recording into a characterful static bass synth with a lot of attitude and raw, rasping grit that was more musical than it was previously. I'm looking forward to using this in more ways. It's definitely on my to-go spice rack. Korneff are great artisan plugins of immense quality and inspiration!

One of the few plugins that can make something that has no dynamic really turn into something that pops! Love putting it on things that need to have more punch.
Have no idea what it does. While the amoeba/coral GUI starts to move and I twist a few knobs it does sound better. Use at your own risk.

Puff Puff Pass is a fantastic tool! The saturation sounds great and the clipper is one of the most unique (and clean) sounding clippers I used. From subtle warmth and shine to full-on distortion, this plugin does it all and it does it in glorious fashion!
